The saying “No mud, no lotus” reminds us that the precious lotus flower has a great deal of mud to struggle through before it emerges from the soil. However, the process is necessary - without the “ugly” parts, we would never find the beauty. The same goes for any creative process. We will spend the majority of our time making mistakes producing things we might be happy to never see again. But each mistep marks another thin layer of mud transcended. This is a space to share inspiration and perhaps morsels of our own mud, to lend support in our endless growth as writers, as readers, as thinkers, as doers.
